School Site Council (SSC)
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What is the School Site Council (SSC)?
The School Site Council is a team made up of the principal, parents, teachers, and other school staff. This group works together to help improve the school and support student learning. The SSC helps create school goals and plans for how to reach them.
What Does the School Site Council Do?
The SSC gives advice to the principal and shares ideas to make the school better. It helps make sure everyone - families, teachers, and staff - has a voice in school decisions. The principal leads the school, but the SSC helps with teamwork and strong communication.
Some of the SSC’s jobs include:

Helping write and approve the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)

Giving feedback on the school’s Safety Plan

Talking about how to use extra funds to support English Learners and students in the Title 1 program

Putting the school plan into action

Making changes to the plan when needed

Checking how well the plan is working
